Livio Penazzi was born in Bolzano, Italy from an Italian father and a German mother; he graduated at Verona University in Economics and after experience working with large and renowned travel organizations in England and the United States, he settled in Verona in 1975. Since then, his professional interests and activities have spanned from tourism to finance, from car rental and fleet management to publishing.

Livio's most significant achievements have been:

• The establishment of a successful travel company, the Fabretto Group of travel agencies, which was sold in 2001 to IFIL, part of the FIAT group, to pursue new business developments as part of  the Welcome Travel Group.
• Being appointed by British Airways as their General Sales Agent for the north east of Italy.
• Founding Best Travel Service in 1993, which became Hertz rent a car's general agent in the north east of Italy.
• The creation of Omnia Finanziaria in 1996 which became the general agent of Western Union money transfer in Italy.

In the course of these years Livio was asked to join boards and committees of several agencies, companies and organizations including:

• Board member of Banca del Garda (Garda Bank) of which he is one of the founding members.
• Board member of Verona Villafranca airporT.
• Past President of the Italian Business Travel Agents’ Association (A.I.B.T.A.)
• European President of the Guild of European Business Travel Agents (G.E.B.T.A.)
• Board member of the American Express Worldwide travel representative network and E.M.E.A (Europe, Middle East & Africa) American Express network advisory board.
• Board member of Amavet Travel Group.
• Past President of Welcome Travel Group, the largest network of travel agencies in Italy.

Currently Livio is

• President of LOGYCAR, a company offering fleet management and long term rental to commercial and business enterprises.
• President of OMNIATECHNOLOGY, an internet company specialized in developing B2B portals and consulting services to small and medium enterprises.
• President of CURIEL, a shopping centres real estate.
